Easy fix — this bike now has a NEW TIRE on the front (Pirelli Angel GT-A) which matches the rear tire that had been installed recently and still has plenty of life left. As an added measure of assurance, they filled both tires with nitrogen to enhance their wear and performance characteristics going forward. The last owner had done an oil & filter change (Annual Service) in September, and we checked to verify that its vital fluids were still clear and clean. Then, out on the road for an extended Road Test to be sure all components and performance attributes were up to our high standards in a real-world riding environment. Lastly, we put it through the rigorous Maryland Safety Inspection to be sure the bike passes legal muster. The next owner of this fine R1200RT will ride secure in the knowledge that his or her machine is in flawless mechanical condition and won’t need any regular maintenance for thousands of miles to come. The cosmetic condition of this bike is equally EXCELLENT. This bike is one of those rare specimens that evidently never suffered a tip-over! While that fact may put this machine into an elite class of the "cosmetically gifted," another small issue brings us back to earth. Saddlebags often show a disproportionately higher degree of wear and tear than the rest of the bike, and that's the case here (no pun intended). And so, you'll notice a few minor scratches on the lower, unpainted parts of both bags. Since no corresponding marks appear elsewhere on the bike, we're guessing that these scratches might have occurred while the bags were stored off the bike. What matters most, though, is that these are insignificant marks and, overall, the only blemishes on the bike worthy of note. The previous owners (2) obviously went to great lengths to care for his bike. And then, of course, our in-house pro detailer took his turn to make SURE it looks its absolute best to go to its new home. The bike could almost pass for NEW!
