Spring is just around the corner, and why not celebrate the coming of warm weather with a show bike—2004 Harley-Davidson Sportster 1200 Custom. 5-gallon tank. 47 mpg. If you are a new rider or a returning rider (haven't ridden in a while), this bike is for you. It weighs about 500 pounds or the same as something like a Honda Rebel 1100. With a seat height of 26 inches, it has a low center of gravity and is just plain fun to ride. This bike has never been laid down. Engine very sound/tight. 16,031 miles (15,531 on old speedometer/500 on new), but think about this—that is over 19 years, or a little over 1,000 miles per year on average. Engine designed to go 75,000-plus without a problem. So it has years of life left in it. Recently had the 15,000 mile service at the NW Harley dealership in Lacey, and I added new tires. Unlike other Sportsters, the Mustang solo seat is thicker and made for a long weekend ride. Has 12.5 inch shocks on a low setting for an even smoother ride (stock shocks were 11.5 inches). Footpegs replaced with pads, so your feet will thank you. Has Wyatt Gatling mufflers (loud-pipes-save-lives), so you get the full, typical, Harley-Davidson rumble, but will not upset your neighbors when you take it out of the garage in the morning and start it up (on your way to work). Saddlebags are spacious, so you can keep things like your rain gear with you on every ride. For safety, added LED lights/blinkers which make you stand out on every ride, especially in town and around intersections. When I approach a busy intersection, I put on the high beams and get noticed (and a white bike stands out - will give you an HJC full-face 2XL white helmet ($250 value, if you need one) - it’s all about Safety, right? Although the bike is set up as a solo ride, you will also get the original full seat, back foot pegs and back rest, if you want to carry a passenger. Original owner's manual. One other owner—a teacher up in University Place. Bike has always been garaged. Shop around, and you'll find that this is an excellent price. Then take your new bike to the spring car/bike shows and show it off. Oh yeah, you might ask, Why are you selling this amazing bike? Well, I just bought a 2023 Heritage Softail Cruiser, and my garage has room for only one bike (see last photo), or I would keep it and have two.
