1975 CB550 K1 Honda Phoenix AZ

Mild ... very mild... retro Cafe' Built in the style of English Cafe' racer clubs of the the early 70's. I bought and restored it in 2002. I wanted the simple graphic of the 74 model 550 with the traditional silver and black concept of a true cafe'. For this concept, I installed slightly lowered bars (2" rise), bar end mirrors and a seat upholstered by a true artist with a basket weave friction panel. It initially had a "beat up Kerker pipe" I was fortunate to find an OEM exhaust in remarkable condition which you see in the photos. In 2002, I tore it down to paint the engine, frame, tank and side covers. Also at that time I replaced the rims, spokes, tubes, rim liners, tires, air filter and chain. All other chrome is in near mint condition and all original to this motorcycle. Note also the the tank is rust free. I drove it, off and on, for less than 500 miles and it was then placed in my personal museum where it has been for 20 years. To bring it back to life and proof it, I replaced the: caliper, brake piston, piston seal as well as the battery. The battery is a regulated and sealed, lead acid. I also rebuilt the master cylinder and rebuilt the carburetors with new seals and gaskets. while disassembled, I installed #98 main jets. I then synchronized the carburetors after installation.
