FS: 1976 Kawasaki KT250A2 Trials - 365 miles - $4899 If you want to place a hold on a pre-owned bikes, you can do so right on our website. @seattleusedbikes.com YouTube - https://youtu.be/XdwyXlaTNMQ Here is another cool bike out of a good customers private collection, illness is sadly forcing the sale.  This is a 1976 Kawasaki KT250A2 Trials Bike has been part of the collection since 1990,  The KT250's were only produced for 2 years, and was part of the wave of charismatic 70s Japanese trials bikes, along with the Yamaha TY and Honda TL.  All had typically minimalist fittings, super-light weight, torquey engines, and bright fun graphics.  This bike is an unusually original survivor of that era.   When these were sold by Kawasaki they actually offered an optional "Trail Kit" which allowed the high mount foot pegs to be lowered, also included was a longer seat and taller handlebars with the cross brace.  We had a chance to look it over close, we did a light tank and carb clean out and it fired right up!  We have learned that front and rear fenders are not the original plastic items, a fork brace was added up front, 2 small mirrors were also added.  This KT is very close to original, right down to the DID alloy rims. All of the switch gear functions properly, none broken or damaged, original 3 position ignition switch, horn, speedometer and all lights function properly, including a functioning brake light.  We have one original key, we did notice on the WA title it was listed as "CYC" which allows you to add a license plate!   This is a cool rare find, don't hesitate  PRESS    THERE WAS A TIME when the only characteristics that a trials bike needed in order to be competitive were well-flywheeled plonking power, good ground clearance and abundant steering lock. Trials in those days, days which aren’t that far behind us, consisted mainly of tight turns and some rockery, with an occasional log thrown in for good measure. The machines of the day were Greeves Anglians and Triumph Tiger Cub 200s.   But today, a trials rider is asked to perform much more difficult tasks aboard his machine. And the machines of today had better be able to handle just about anything or they just won’t sell to the serious enthusiast. The Japanese have shown a strong interest in bogwheeling, although their efforts to date have not yet been successful in producing machinery to equal that from Spain. But Kawasaki’s new KT250 comes closer than anything else has. Decked out in traditional Kawasaki green, the KT is adorned on both its metal tank and plastic side panels with a handsome white stripe. Behind the left side panel is the air filter box, a well-designed system for keeping dirt and water out. The exhaust pipe, which begins with an upward-routed header, slips in behind the right side panel and then continues rearward, eventually incorporating into an approved spark arrester. Between the side panels is stuffed the oil tank for the injection system. Throttle response at any rpm is very predictable. The engine purrs, zips, slows, or screams, all depending on what the rider’s right wrist does. In this respect, the Kawasaki is clearly the best trialer to come out of Japan.
