KAWASAKI Z1000 - ABSOLUTELY IMMACULATE AND STUNNING! Phoenix AZ

I was a big fan of the Z1000 when they came out in 2003. They were very ahead of their time and still look contemporary with today's sport bikes. They are a descendant of the legendary KZ900 from the 70's and some of their styling cues, and particularly color, are throw backs to those legendary machines. Mechanically they have advanced a bit (lol, alot really) and are light years different in performance and ridability. They are fuel injected, liquid cooled 1000cc with excellent suspension and brakes. I have wanted one for a long time and to me, the Orange Pearl is really the only color for this bike, but I found out very quickly that they are few and far between. I did a bit of research and found out that Kawasaki didn't make this gen Z1000 in large numbers which explains why they're just aren't a lot out there. What I found was either beat, raced out, unloved bikes or, because they were a favorite with commuters, had a ton of miles. Which brings us to this bike. It's a 2003 and looks showroom new. I looked for 6 months and decided on this bike because it only had 17k miles on it and was very straight and mechanically solid. Unfortunately it had spent a lot of it's life outdoors so the paint and overall finish on the bike was dull. I spend several months refinishing the entire bike and it looks incredible. I rode it to bikes and coffee today and it attracted a throng of people, I didn't expect that. Many people were shocked that it is an 03, and several didn't even know Kawi made this bike. 2 of them thought it was a 2022 bike, partly because of my skills restoring it, but more because of how ahead of it's time the styling is. It has brand new paint in OEM color and OEM decals. The paint was special order and came from the UK. Yes it was expensive. It is 3 stage and the decals are cleared over like the factory scheme. Paint quality is so good that it could pass for an OEM paint job. In fact it's better than an OEM paint job. I refinished every other surface. The wheels were stripped, repolished and repainted in the factory color. The engine, radiator, radiator shrouds and frame covers all reshot too. Bike is very clean under the tank and panels too. I just got the solo seat cowl from Canada but you can see in the pics that it's not the right color and it's being painted the correct color. As mentioned, mechanically solid. New oil and filter, new coolant, new brake fluid. Brand new chain and clutch with heavy duty springs. Bike doesn't leak a drop of anything. Tires about 70% and brake pads good. Bike also has the OEM exhaust, most of what I looked at had aftermarket exhaust which I didn't want. The stock pipes of these bikes are beautiful. Upgraded Arashi front rotors. One thing that was hideous on these bikes is the rear fender. I did a custom eliminator kit but still have the horrid stock one if you want it. Updated turn signals too and color matched mirrors. I also put spools on the swingarm for a stand. Has hard to find solo cowl, as well as the passenger seat. Bikes starts up, runs and stops excellent. Come see it! Can you buy some newer, dime a dozen bike for what I'm asking? Absolutely you can. This bike is for someone that wants something rare and different. I've had a chance to ride this bike hard a few times, and it'll definitely hold its own with today's bikes performance wise. The brakes are outstanding, suspension plush and plenty of power.
