(SOLD) 1979 HONDA CBX!! Phoenix AZ

The Honda CBX is an interesting story. When they first dropped in the late 70s, people were scratching their heads and didnt know what to make of them. They didn't really fit into a class, and really were in a class of their own. The idea of a six cylinder standard motorcycle was new at the time. Because of all of this, sales lagged and the legend is, "dealers couldnt give them away" ...but their appeal and demand has definitely changed. There are 2 gens of the CBX, the first gens 79-80 and the 2nd gens 81-82. Lets be honest, mechanically, the 2nd gens were more advanced and better bikes if you planned on riding them. They were down on HP slightly, but jetted/tuned for more midrange power. Suspension and brakes were better, and you got a full fairing and removable bags. But collectors don't really want those bikes and prices reflect that. The first gens bring more money and are highly desirable with collectors, and the Candy Glory Red '79 is the bike everyone wants and again, pricing reflects this, with a very clean one selling on BaT recently for $27k. These bikes are on a trajectory and will only go up in value. Which brings us to this bike. It has been completely gone thru and restored, but it is not a totally original bike, and if that's what you want, stop reading HERE. Great, you are still with us. What I wanted to create was a mildly modded CBX that still kept the same flavor of the original but with the problem issues addressed and performance, braking and handling improved upon. The high dollar factory original bikes are great, if you want to keep it in storage or in your living room. (I sold a near perfect '79 about 4 months ago for almost $24k) This bike is more for someone that plans on admiring it, AND RIDING IT. What I started with was a relatively low mile bike and completely tore it down. Alot has been done so I will address everything in catagories. If you plan on lowballing, move on, ain't gonna happen lol. As mentioned, I sold a mint all orig 79 recently for $24k. This bike is a steal at $18,995. Too much for you? I understand, but it will sell for that amount or close to it. These bikes are only going to go up in value I'll give it some time on craigslist but probably will end up putting it up for bid on bring a trailer or eBay where it may or may not bring more money.
