Overview: Up for sale is this fantastic and rare woodblock print by Yoshikazu Utagawa. This print is entitled "Sericulture" and shows two women working in the silkmaking industry. The print was originally produced around 1850. I'm unsure of the date of the printing of this particular print, but it certainly predates 1900. A wonderful print by a sought-after Japanese print artist. The print is mounted (likely glued) to a backing board. Condition: The print is in fair condition for age. It is mounted to a backing board. It shows some deterioration, toning and foxing consistent with age. Measurements: Print measures approximately 13.75 inches high x 9.625 inches wide. Backing board measures 16 inches high x 12 inches wide. Please feel free to view any other pieces I have for sale by clicking the "more ads by this user" link on the right side of the posting.
