Payroll Supervisor for Small Office - Encino Phoenix AZ

Payroll Supervisor Team One Employment Specialists, LLC is a temporary staffing agency who is seeking to hire an individual for an internal position as a Payroll Supervisor. This is a full time Monday through Friday position in the city of Encino reporting to the Controller and Owner/President of company. A plus if you live within 45 minutes of Encino. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 2 years relevant experience in a supervisory role with Payroll processing between 500-1000 employees. Experience with training, developing and maintaining policies and procedures for payroll operations is a plus. Staffing experience is a plus. Responsibilities & Requirements: 1. Understands California payroll regulations and all requirements including wage and hour laws, paid sick leave and time card requirements. 2. Reviews, analyzes and checks payroll & timecards for accuracy and makes necessary adjustments or corrections. 3. Includes heavy data processing to prepare and process live checks, direct deposit and pay cards for all employees. 4. Sets up and reconciles voluntary payroll deductions, prepares reports, identifies and researches exceptions. 5. Processes garnishments which include child support, tax levies, etc. 6. Prepares invoices for all clients, adjusts billing and issues credits as needed. 7. Review payroll liabilities for federal, state and all related taxes including reconciliation for quarterly and annual returns. 8. Researches, analyzes and resolves payroll-related problems or questions. 9. Assists with Year End items like W2/1095 distribution. 10. Responsible for integrated payroll processes for Timekeeping, payroll and tax reporting. 11. Assist in Accounting Functions 12. Basic Administration duties including calls, preparing documents and handling customer services needs of the owner. Requirements: 1. Proven Payroll Experience (4 years minimum) 2. Excel proficiency is a MUST (Intermediate User ONLY must know formulas, complex editing and advanced formatting) 3. Staffing experience is a plus. 4. Quickbooks is a Preferred 5. College degree is a big plus. 6. Accounting experience handling audits, taxes and general accounting duties is a plus. 7. MS Word and Outlook savvy is required. 8. Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing systems, filing and records management systems, and other office procedures and terminology 9. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy 10. Able to exercise effective judgment, sensitivity, creativity to changing needs and situations. 11.
