Accounts Payable Specialist - High volume environment with REIT/Property Managment firmPRIMARY FUNCTION:Performs a variety of Accounts payable and accounting and bookkeeping duties according to established policies and procedures. Maintains contact with staff, vendors and clients and observes confidentiality of client and firm matters.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to paymentEnsure proper G/L account coding for all invoices processed for paymentSort and distribute incoming mailProcess 3-way P.O. matching invoicesProcess check requestsReview and process travel and expense reportsAudit and process Corporate credit card billsMatch invoices to checks, obtain all signatures for checks and distribute checks accordingly1099 maintenanceRespond to all vendor inquiriesReconcile vendor statements, research and correct discrepanciesMonth end closing journal entriesKeep track and process accounts and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and proceduresAssist with other projects as neededQUALIFICATIONSEDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent required, college accounting coursework preferredEXPERIENCE: 3-4 years Accounting (A/P and A/R)SKILLS: Yardi ERP system experience a plusMust have strong work ethicMust be well organized and a self-starterMust be able to follow standard filing proceduresDetail oriented, professional attitude, reliableProficient in ExcelPossess strong organizational and time management skillsStrong problem solving skills, basic accounting principles knowledge, documentation skills, research and resolution skills, data analysis and multi-tasking skillsThorough knowledge of applicable accounts payable/general ledger systems and procedures, financial chart of accounts and corporate proceduresAbility to communicate effectively verbally and in writingAbility to interact with employees and vendors in a professional mannerAbility to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness We are an equal opportunity employer.
