CPA candidate/undergraduate (Part Time) Phoenix AZ

ABOUT US Small 3-person CPA/wealth management firm offering tax, investment, financial planning and bookkeeping services to entertainment clients. THE POSITION Part-time position particularly suited for undergraduates seeking a career as a CPA. Candidates should be wiling to commit to a minimum of 1-2 years in the position. Specific duties and responsibilities include the following: - Preparation of basic- to intermediate-level personal and business tax returns; - Bookkeeping using QuickBooks from data entry through financial statement generation; - Business management duties including direct client involvement; - Working with our investment custodian on account setup and maintenance; - Working with our outsourced portfolio management vendor regarding quarterly billing and performance reporting; - Working with our financial planning software on developing financial plans for clients. Experience Requirements: - Some tax experience and/or college-level coursework in taxation. - Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook and QuickBooks. - Ability to write well. Additional Responsibilities: - Greeting clients, answering light phone call, scheduling meetings; - Handling office supply inventory, keeping the office neat and organized; - Printing, assembling, and mailing of income tax returns, extensions, estimates, and smaller tax forms; - Scanning documents and maintaining our document management system; Advancement: - Opportunity to progress into more challenging and complex projects. Typical Working Hours: - May thru December: 20 - 30 hours/week spread over 3-4 days; - January thru April: 30 - 40 hours/week spread over at least 4-5 days; Compensation: - Compensation is based on experience and demonstrated skills.
