PRICE JUST REDUCED $1,000 ! ! I spend 2 hours looking at CYCLETRADER ads for 2016/2017 Honda VFR1200X all over the USA This is a fair price for this bike. Most prices are higher, have way more mileage, and Honda dealers always add in extra charges for another $1,200 to $1,500. Plus your time going to Texas or wherever. You can’t find this ADVENTURE BIKE NEW with 667 miles like this anywhere ! Most 2017 Honda VFR1200X CycleTrader ads have thousands of miles and are priced $13,000 to $14,000. If you’re not familiar with this bike it’s called the Honda Crosstourer in Europe. There are lots of reviews and technical innovations easily accessed online about this remarkable bike. Electronic Fuel Injection, ABS, ‘Throttle-by-wire’ Narrow width V-4, etc LIKE NEW 667 miles. Smooth powerful 1237cc V-4 engine. Precise electronic fuel injection. No carburetors to clean and sync every riding season. Electronic throttle (NO CABLE) 6-Speed manual transmission. This model Honda bike also offered DCT automatic transmission option, I tried it and I like manual shifting better, DCT is a convenience adds weight and potentially added issues way down the road. It appears that DCT models have slightly less resale. I don’t really have time to answer a lot of email questions but glad to talk and share if you’re considering this great motorcycle. Like I said, Lots of info and reviews online. This bike is way more street bike than the Honda Africa Twin which has more suspension travel and is more ‘dirt focused’. Many motorcycle enthusiasts got the impression that Honda failed to describe this niche bike accurately and that the Africa Twin got all the glory and flash for dual purpose riding since Honda didn’t differentiate the purposes, riders got a little confused. NOW seems the 2016-2017 Honda VFR1200X have a niche ‘cult following’ based on the prices dealers are asking around the country. It’s also WAY MORE COMFORTABLE than most ‘ADVENTURE BIKES’ for serious highway sport touring. A Versatile suspension ! VFR1200X very stable for expressway/interstate travel, the wind buffeting from 18-wheeler big rigs at 70 mph doesn’t push you around like on smaller, lighter motorcycles with less rubber on the road. The VFR1200X is also more comfortable for taller riders, like 5’10” and up. There’s some slight suspension and seat lowering adjustment. It’s also half the price of a similar Euro BMW bike, a lot more reliable, not fussy, much simpler to maintain. I respect BMW bikes but they can be a real headache, twice the price of Honda parts and service. This Honda V-4 1237cc easily outperforms a BMW GS1150. Why ? Simple ....... Honda’s V-4 design produces ENORMOUS mid-range torque. Thanks for reading. These bikes are scarce, especially like new condition. Having ridden since the 1970’s I bought it during COVID as a NON-CURRENT for something fun to do BUT just can’t seem to find time to ride it, too much going on these days. I have several other Motorsports, RV conversion and sailboat projects going that take up my scarce ‘hobby time’ and my garage space. It’s been well cared for, maintained, new battery, first oil change, center stand added etc. ALWAYS UNDER the included heavy duty RED cover, always garaged, NEVER been ridden in rain or bad weather. Well …….. hardly ridden at all obviously. My loss, your gain. I’ve owned and ridden several Honda V-4 bikes, 1984 & 1985 Honda V-4 V65 Sabre 1100 ...... 1985 Honda 500 Interceptor (a FUN bike ! ). ….. the Honda V-4’s ............ great motorcycle engine design, think half of a V-8 !
