PRICE REDUCED - Presented here are 2 gorgeous, hand colored lithographs from the renowned John Gould's "Birds of Europe" (1832-1837) Depicted are the Wood Wren, and the Pied Fly Catcher, with full original printed descriptive texts mounted on the frame backs. John Gould (1804-1881) was one of the most prolific ornithological artists in history, and he was assisted in his published works by his wife Elizabeth, as well as H. C. Richter and Edward Lear. These prints came from an estate in rural upstate New York, and are believed to date from the original 1837 published folios. Each framed print measures approximately 27 ½ " X 19 ½ ". These works are vibrantly hand colored. The prints have slipped slightly within the frames, but this is easily remedied.
