Parts Car. $700 FIRM. Read the whole long post. Lots of info. If you don't work on cars, this is not the car for you. We've owned this car since 2015. It's been a great car. This was our 3rd Saab 9-3 and I'm pretty familiar with them. I went to start it Christmas weekend to treat the convertible top (which I did anyway), and it just clicked. Charged battery, ... nothing. Won't turn over. If you know SAAB's, you know that they are notorious for sludge, timing chain failures etc. For the "Saab people": At 100,000 miles, (Which every saab owner should have done), I removed the oil pan, replaced the oil pump, pickup, timing chain (which was in perfect shape, and I have the old one) and checked everything over. I also installed the PCV #6 Update. Engine was sludge free. I believe I still have pics and video from 2015!! This car ALWAYS used synthetic oil and the inside of the engine showed it. Super Clean. While the engine turned by hand last weekend, I decided to pull off the valve cover (I took video) and check the chain. The chain looks fine, no slack, perfect shape). I reinstalled the valve cover, tried a different battery, checked starter / wiring etc. Still nothing. Perhaps it's the balance chain?? I'm not sure / possibly ?? In any event, I was hoping to run the car for another year or so, but since I'm doing an engine swap in my wife's sebring convertible now, I figured I'll list it now As-Is / As it sits for a fellow saab person or someone looking for a project. The car has a salvage title (totaled because of paint work!!!) . I was towing it on a trailer in Jan 2016 when an idiot ran a stop sign and I hit him with my truck. The saab - shifted on the trailer and it swung around and the driver fender contacted the fender of my trailer. I have pics, accident report etc if you want to see. The driver fender was creased (I still have it!), the headlight was broken, parking light was broken, and the front bumper was scuffed / small crack. No other damage. We pay for "OEM Parts on our insurance policy, so with Saab no longer being in business, the paintwork (and finding a good quality / OEM fender) was enough to total the car. The car was in such good shape, I bought it back from the insurance company , replaced the fender (quick touch up is a slightly different color), headlight etc and I've been driving it around town since 2016 ! It's even been to North Carolina and back in June of 2016 after the accident and repair! - Yes, that's how reliable this car was. Top is in nice shape, Always treated. Just treated a week ago. No rips or tears on the seats. some normal seat stains / convertible "stuff" but it's pretty nice. HVAC only works on High (and with a different switch installed). A/C is / was ICE COLD. Heat is blistering hot, like most saabs are. The TURBO has been bypassed. It needs a rebuild. I've been driving it without the turbo since 2017. I have the turbo. One rim shown is different. (I have original rim). I also have some spare parts that I've collected over the years owning saabs). You can have everything I have. Will update the post with more details. Interested parties: It will not be a waste of time to stop out and see the car if you are looking for a project. I'm home most days as well. RECAP: NOT RUNNING / STARTING. Salvage Title. Have pics and some video I think of fender repair. Have original fender. $700 FIRM , FIRM, FIRM.-- Bring a trailer / dolly and take her home. If it doesn't sell, I'll dig into it in the Spring after I'm finished the sebring and run "her" for a few more years. IF YOU ARE SERIOUS (and not 1,000 miles away), I have a tow dolly and may be able to drop off the car to you - FOR GAS MONEY. Car must be PAID FOR PRIOR - and IN PERSON.
