It is sturdy and well built. It would fit in a pickup truck or van just fine, or in the back of a larger car or trunk. It is fine for 3-4 chickens; it would also be perfect for young chicks/chickens to be in until they're ready for the main coop, or for a broody hen to do her thing in until the little ones start hatching and keep them away from the main flock. It is small and portable enough that it could be put inside a coop or chicken run to introduce new chickens to the flock without squabbling or physical contact. It also allows the birds to get used to their surroundings, so when they are released it is less stressful being in a new place. Because the coop is a light-weight housing box and run all-in-one, it is easily transported; it weighs about 30 pounds, so one person could move it from place to place. Very handy to use when you want to contain the birds but still let them be able to forage and scratch around without actually doing the "free range" thing. Plus, coop could easily have a larger run added on to it, and is what a lot of people end up doing. We also added hinges to the top of the run part of the cage to make it easier to put in/take out food and water. The pull-out drawer in the housing area makes it really easy to change litter/bedding.
