As these LED sign displays age, they become dimmer over time. These start out at 7,000 NITS. This sign now measures about 3,000 NITS. 3,000 NITS is still useable in the daytime it is just at the lower end of the brightness scale for daytime use. By contrast, signs at night display at about 300 NITS. So, this display has life left in a less intense light environment. This unit was operating 24/7 when it was removed from service this Fall.
