Trace Elliot AH 500-7 500 watt bass amplifier head. Made in UK. VGC Phoenix AZ

I'm selling this Trace Elliot AH 500-7 bass head. It's rated at 500 watts into 4 ohms. 7 band graphic eq (switchable) and a switchable "pre shape" which gives the classic "Trace Elliot" sound. It's also got an adjustable compressor. The pre shape, EQ, compression, and mute are footswitchable (included). Made in England. Anyway, this is a killer amp, these things are very underrated. I'm only selling it because I upgraded to the 12 band EQ version. It's got plenty of power and sounds great. Cosmetically I'd say it's good or very good. Various minor blemishes and whatnot in the tolex, but nothing too major and the face plate and back panel look great. Some minor damage to the strap handle on the end but it's still usable. It comes with the original cloth cover which is not in great shape because it's been doing its job protecting the amp. Electrically it's in very good/excellent condition. Very clean and quiet. I'm not sure I've even had it halfway up on the volume knob (you better be packin heat with your cabs if you want to do that, like 8x10 territory). I can't imagine this thing running out of gas in any typical playing situation. That's the whole point of a high current amp like this, just instantaneous, copious amounts of power. You will definitely be heard with this thing if you want to be. The face plate light seems a little dim, may need a new bulb or something, but doesn't affect function, just appearance. EDIT/Update: I had this thing opened up the other day just to give it a once over. The footswitch ribbon cable was just detached inside, accounting for why it wasn't working before. I played through it for the first time in a while, and kind of forgot how good it actually sounds. The footswitch is fully working now. New this was 1069.99 at Sweetwater. I'm asking less than half that. $485 OBO (which is way cheaper than any of these on ebay or reverb lately). The new ELF stuff has also kind of re-ignited interest in Trace Elliot lately, so prices on the used stuff are more likely to go up than down. As cool as the ELF is, frankly this thing smokes it, in terms of power, features, versatility, and sound quality. The Elf is a $300 200w amp built in China. This is a 500w amp built in the UK that lists for 3-4x more.
