Curly-feathered Frillback Pigeons Phoenix AZ

Beautiful, unique, and a great hobby! The wing-shield feathers of Frillbacks really do naturally curl. They turn heads and really draw attention! Fancy feathered pigeons need a large covered/safe flight pen to exercise in. (Frillbacks fly just fine--the shield feathers curl, not the flight feathers.) And they need a protected coop/loft/shed to sleep and nest in (similar to chickens). Frillbacks do a fine job raising their babies and enjoy being parents. It is fun to watch the devoted pairs dote over their hatchlings and sweetly groom and cuddle with each other. The males love to coo (relaxing to listen to) and show off (which can be quite entertaining). With good care, pigeons will live 10+ years so will give you many years of enjoyment and many offspring to keep or share with others. All birds are NPA banded for ID and recordkeeping. If a bird gets out and becomes lost, the bands also help a finder get them back home (the avian equivalent of putting a collar and tags on a dog). •~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~• ABOUT THE PHOTOS Severe cedar allergies have me cooped up indoors right now as much as possible so these photos are mostly from last year or are birds that already went to their new homes this fall/winter. But I chose these as examples because I have other similar frillbacks still available. When cedar fever subsides, I will be able to get new photos & start rehoming the birds again. AVIARY PETS -- $10+/- each pigeon -- FREE [same-sex] pair when you buy 5 [same-sex] pairs -- These are *not* breeding quality so are only available in same-sex groups as non-breeding aviary pets. -- Minimum of 6+ so they have a flock and their social needs are met. -- Most are white with minimal flecking/markings but others with more color are also available. HOBBY/PET QUALITY -- $20 each bird ($40 each male/female pair) -- FREE m/f pair when you buy 5 m/f pairs -- Minimum of 2 male/female pairs so the offspring of one pair can be mated with the offspring of the other pair to hold off inbreeding. -- Most are white with minimal flecking/markings but others with more color are also available. You could actually get quite a colorful group at this price--there is a LOT of visual variety in these budget friendly birds! BREEDER QUALITY -- $30-$40 each bird ($60-$80 each pair) -- Each bird is priced individually based on color, curl, etc. -- Must go in male/female pairs. (No singles & no same-sex pairs/groups.) -- Minimum of 2 male/female pairs so the offspring of one pair can be mated with the offspring of the other pair. (More pairs is even better = less inbreeding of future generations and better long-term vitality.)
