ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. • Under direction of Production Supervisor or his/her designee, performs various aspects of assembling baby changing tables, highchairs, and seating products, including sub-assembly, final assembly, parts, bagging, making cartons and packaging. • May utilize hand tools, power tools and various machines. • Must be responsible for and knowledgeable of quality, workmanship, and company production standards. • Required to complete labor card for each job performed. • Works in accordance with all safety standards. Work is subject to inspection and checks. • Maintains work area in a neat and orderly manner. REQUIREMENTS: EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: As a minimum, the Production Operator (Assembler) is required to have a High School diploma or GED equivalent. Minimum Age: 18. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write and follow verbal and written instructions in English. Ability to speak effectively to other employees of organization. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide. Ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement, volume, and distance. REASONING ABILITY: The tasks of the Production Operator (Assembler) are varied but standardized. Must follow existing practices and procedures. They may work on assignments that are semi-routine in nature where ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required. Identify and report quality concerns. Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must be able to operate specific equipment or tools. Required to comply with all safety rules and wear required safety equipment.
