Responsible for managing monthly billing activities within selected sectors of DCI, the Staff Accountant will assist with the maintenance, tracking, collection and management of Accounts Receivable for assigned sectors. Responsibilities: -Update project/jobs in Deltek database, to include project maintenance and billing terms setup -Assist engineers with Deltek database project entry -Billing coordination with project managers and WIP processing -Prepare draft and final invoices, with related backup, and timely mailing of invoices -Interface with project managers and clients on invoice questions, concerns and/or corrections -Use Deltek accounting software to bill all invoices and process all accounts receivable/collections, enter journal entries, and generate necessary reports -Project management and contracts follow-up in regard to scope changes, collecting signatures on contracts, etc. -Maintain billing and contract folders/filing to billing folders and offsite storage -Maintain A/R aging integrity through consistent contact and follow-up, with an emphasis on past due accounts -Document and track account status and client interaction regarding accounts and formulate actions and resolutions for non-payment of accounts -Maintain detailed files/notes on all accounts and communications -Work with, and utilize, PM's/Principals/Office Managers in all offices to assist and resolve payment issues -Assist with the posting of payments via checks/wire transfers/EFT's/credit cards -Other tasks as assigned Qualifications: -BA/BS in Accounting preferred -Minimum of 3 to 5 years staff accountant experience, including billing and A/R -Experience within a service organization (Engineering/Architectural preferred) -Deltek/Vision software experience preferred -Highly proficient with Excel, Word and the internet. Adaptable to learning new software. -Knowledge and understanding of contract structure, terms and conditions -Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment -Effective communicator with the ability to work independently
