Ryder is looking to be your new four-legged friend! He is an 8-month old, neutered (fixed), male, black Border Collie mix. He was bred to be a cow dog but decided that is not his thing. He is 30 pounds right now and may mature to be 40-45 pounds. Ryder is leash and kennel trained. He loves hugs, car rides, and likes to please. We do not know how he is around cats or if he is potty trained simply because he has not had the opportunity. He has been around our 2-year-old son some and seems to really enjoy him. Ryder has an energy level of 6/10. He is polite, but he is a young working-breed dog. This dog is not suited for an apartment or a sedentary lifestyle. Ryder needs an active family to keep him occupied and happy in order to remain a well-behaved member of society. Ryder has always been current on veterinary care: he is up-to-date on all vaccines and receives flea and heart worm prevention every month. His full medical records will be provided to his adopted family. We are adopting him out as a pet only. Please do not expect that you are getting a working dog for an adoption fee. We professionally train cow dogs full time. We look for loving homes for the dogs that decide that they would rather be someone's companion. We want to make sure that the dog you choose fits your family. If he does not fit your family, we will gladly take him back at any time so that we can find him a new home.
