Vintage Duz Detergent Golden Wheat Dinnerware 55+ Years Old!! 44 Assorted Pieces= 10x Larger Glasses (12oz ?) 3x Smaller Juice Glasses (4oz?) 2x Dinner Plates 8x Medium Size Plates 9x Dessert Plates 4x Tea Cups 5x Tea Cup Saucers 1x Gravy Boat 1x Serving Bowl 1x Serving Platter Excellent condition(s) w/no cracks or chipping. The 2 larger dinner plates have a bit of fading from use. The Golden Wheat pattern was manufactured by the Homer-Laughlin China Company circa 1949 - 1966. The oven proof dinnerware features a design of golden colored wheat bending in the wind with a 22kt gold band. These pieces are stamped on the back w/ "Golden Wheat, Made in USA, 22kt Gold, Oven Proof" with two wheat sheaves on either side. A bit of trivia... In the 1950s Duz Detergent began a promotional campaign which involved including a piece of 22K gold-trimmed Golden Wheat dinnerware in each box of laundry soap. They began this promotion to gain sales over Tide detergent. Each month an additional plate, bowl, glass or other serving piece was added to boxes of Duz, to entice customers to buy the soap in order to acquire the dinnerware.
